Technical Data
Total length of the bypass: approx. 2,845 m
Length of Niederberg Tunnel: 1,792 m
Tunnel Geology: various limestone formations, some of which are at risk of karstification
High projected water inflow: up to 1,000 l/s with water pressure of up to 10 bar acting on the pressure-resistant lining
Tunneling Method: Drill and blast method as well as excavation of soft rock using a pipe arch
Southward tunneling with a pilot tunnel for pre-drainage
Tunnel waterproofing: fully pressure-resistant waterproofing with lining
