Vision
Our planet needs talented, dedicated, and well qualified engineers – as well as solid scientific research – to meet the challenges ahead. This applies in particular to transforming the global energy system in order to achieve climate targets. The Adolf Feizlmayr Foundation therefore supports students who advance these relevant scientific fields and research areas.
About Adolf Feizlmayr
Adolf Feizlmayr, together with Pius Lässer, co founded the engineering partnership Ingenieurgemeinschaft Lässer Feizlmayr (ILF), Innsbruck-Munich, the company known today as ILF Consulting Engineers. To this day, he contributes his more than 60 years of experience to ILF.

Support for Students
In line with his vision, Adolf Feizlmayr and his great nephew Klaus Peter Aumayr established the Adolf Feizlmayr Foundation as a German non profit organization in 2015, with the primary goal of supporting students.
Preferably, support is provided at the Montanistic University of Leoben (MUL) and the Technical University of Munich (TUM): at MUL because it is Adolf Feizlmayr’s alma mater, and at TUM because Munich has served as ILF’s second central location alongside Innsbruck since the company was founded.
The scholarship program is also intended to expand to additional technical universities and higher education institutions in regions where ILF is present. With Hannover, the first steps in this direction were already taken.
In keeping with the foundation’s vision, scholarship recipients not only receive financial assistance but also gain insight into professional life, made possible through ILF’s support.
All scholarship holders automatically become part of ILF’s “Club of Young Engineers” in Germany and Austria. This network offers regular events and opportunities to speak with experienced engineers about career pathways. Valuable contacts formed in the club help ease the transition into professional life.
At the Montanistic University of Leoben (MUL), two scholarship programs are offered:
- The “Merit Scholarship” for students with outstanding academic performance
- The “Support Scholarship” for international (non EU) students
Support at the Technical University of Munich (TUM)
At the Technical University of Munich (TUM), support is currently provided through the Deutschlandstipendium (German public private scholarship).
Support for Dissertations and Theses
In addition to awarding scholarships, the foundation collaborates with universities, higher education institutions, and ILF to support bachelor’s and master’s theses as well as dissertations.
The foundation also encourages students to complete internships at ILF to gain valuable practical experience.
Promotion of Science and Research
In this area, too, the foundation works closely with ILF. As a global engineering company, ILF can contribute essential expertise to scientific and research projects based on its decades of experience. The foundation promotes science and research, particularly in pipeline engineering and climate protection – pipeline engineering because of Adolf Feizlmayr’s long-standing work in this field as an ILF partner, and climate protection because he aims to contribute to achieving climate targets.

Anniversary Publication (Festschrift)
The Adolf Feizlmayr Foundation proudly looks back on ten successful years (2015–2025). During this time, the foundation has supported numerous young talents, advanced scientific research, and carried out other charitable activities. At the same time, the necessary organizational structures were built, and the foundation’s assets were continuously expanded.

January 2026: Scholarships at MUL and TUM
This year, the foundation will once again award 20 scholarships each to the Montanistic University of Leoben (MUL) and the Technical University of Munich (TUM).
January 2026: New Research Project “Dunkelflaute”
The foundation is supporting the project “Optionen zur Beherrschung der Dunkelflaute in Deutschland”, led by the Fraunhofer Institute ISE in Freiburg, with contributions from the German Institute for Economic Research (DIW) in Berlin, and ILF.
